My Studio

-I work out of my upstairs studio in my home.

It's got a great North light and my easel catches as much of it's light as possible. I have ample space for my books, and computer in addition to my "trusty" dart board and flytying bench.

If it weren't for my sound system, my cold winter nights would be longer, and colder.

Mediums and Materials

My three major mediums are watercolor, pen and ink, and watercolor/ink, combination. I work exclusively on Arche's 140lb. Hot compressed watercolor paper (100% rag). My pigments are Winsor & Newton tube series and "half-pans" and my brushes are predominately, Kolinsky sable series seven, Winsor & Newton. (when I can afford them) Each painting is pre-stretched and are usually sold unframed. Over the years I've found it more practical to offer the work without the frame and matts because most clients

Prefer to have their "Framer choose for them, to fit the "décor" the art was intended for .

Also, for practical purposes, it's much easier to FedEx artwork unframed. Please feel free to ask any questions or suggestions regarding framing and matting. I'm happy to oblige but am partial to certain woods where the frame is concerned.
